Gaurav Banerjee Takes Over as CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India, Replacing NP Singh.

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the appointment of Gaurav Banerjee, formerly of Disney Star, as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Banerjee replaces NP Singh, who stepped down after a remarkable 25-year tenure at Sony.

Gaurav Banerjee’s Extensive Experience
Gaurav Banerjee joins SPNI with a wealth of experience from his time at Disney Star. At Disney Star, Banerjee oversaw Hindi entertainment content and Disney+ Hotstar, and managed Star Bharat, as well as Hindi and English movies, kids & infotainment, and regional channels.

As head of content strategy for Star Plus in 2009, Banerjee helped the channel regain its top spot with hit shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum and Sasural Genda Phool. He was promoted to general manager of Star Plus in 2013 and later led the Content Studio from 2015.
