Renowned Malayalam actor Meghanathan, best known for his compelling villainous roles, has passed away at the age of 60. The actor succumbed to complications from a lung-related illness while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode. His funeral is scheduled to be held on Thursday at his residence in Shoranur, Kerala.
Meghanathan: A Legacy Rooted in Talent
Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Meghanathan was the third child of legendary actor Balan K Nair and Sarada Nair. Much like his father, Meghanathan made a mark in the Malayalam film industry, becoming a household name for his intense portrayals of antagonists. He is survived by his wife, Susmitha, and daughter, Parvathi.
Meghanathan made his acting debut in the 1983 Malayalam film Asthram, which set the stage for a prolific career spanning over three decades. With more than 50 films to his credit, he is remembered for his stellar performances in films like Panchagni, Chamayam, Rajadhani, Chenkol, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu, and Vaasthavam.
