Renowned Malayalam actor Meghanathan, best known for his compelling villainous roles, has passed away at the age of 60. The actor succumbed to complications from a lung-related illness while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode. His funeral is scheduled to be held on Thursday at his residence in Shoranur, Kerala.

Meghanathan, born in Thiruvananthapuram to actor Balan K Nair and Sarada Nair, became known for his powerful antagonist roles in Malayalam cinema. He debuted in Asthram (1983) and enjoyed a career spanning over 30 years, with over 50 films. His memorable performances include Panchagni, Chamayam, and Vaasthavam. He is survived by his wife, Susmitha, and daughter, Parvathi.
