Bhumi Pednekar on Feeling Safe on Film Sets
Bhumi Pednekar, known for her powerful roles, reflected on her journey in the industry. She emphasized how her experience in cinema has been empowering and safe, starting from her debut film.
“My debut film was special because it questioned societal norms. Despite initial skepticism from my father about the film industry, I found a safe and protective environment on set. I feel more secure on a film set than anywhere else,” Bhumi shared during the discussion.
Imtiaz Ali on Casting Couch and Self-Respect
Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali addressed the casting couch, offering valuable insights. He stated, “A career cannot be built by compromising self-respect. Standing firm and saying no earns respect, and integrity is key for both aspiring and established actors. Exploitation doesn’t guarantee success; in fact, it often leads to the opposite.”
